Day 1 – Kunming
Arrival Kunming, a city also known as a city of perpetual spring with a mild climate.
Arrival Kunming, we make a small city tour, and visit the Night Market.

Day 2 – Kunming / Stone Forest / Kunming
Breakfast at hotel.
We drive around 120km southeast of Kunming to the famous Stone Forest, (departure in early morning to arrive before the mass tourism) a massive collection of grey limestone pillars, split by rain water and eroded to their fanciful forms, the tallest standing 30m high. Lunch at local restaurant.
Rest of the day free for leisure.

Day 3 – Kunming / Dali
Breakfast at hotel.
Transfer to airport for flight to Dali.
Arrival Dali and transfer for visit Three Pagodas, Old Town and Monastery Santasi.
Lunch at local restaurant.
Visit Cangshan Mountain cable car up and down or walk down (about 1.5 hours).
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch.

Day 4 – Dali / Lijiang
Breakfast at hotel.
3 hours coach tour to Lijiang and visit Bai minority villages.
Lunch at local restaurant.
Arrival Lijiang and visit in old town.

Day 5 – Lijiang
Breakfast at hotel.
Coach tour to the Maoniuping (Yak Meadow) of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, then visit Baisha Nazi minority village.
Lunch at local restaurant.
Visit Black Dragon Pond, Dongba Research institute to enjoy the Naxi ancient music.

Day 6 – Lijiang / Zhongdian (Shangri-La)
Breakfast at hotel.
Excursion coach tour from Lijiang to Zhongdian (Shangri-La) – a town with a very Tibetan atmosphere. It is situated 198km north of Lijiang at 3,200m altitude and very close to the Tibetan border, known as little Tibet. Coach drive about 70km to the first stop at Shigu (Stone Drum Village) where you can see the geographically significant first Bend of the Yangtze River, then after 70km, we will see the Tiger Leaping George if the weather is allowed.
Lunch at local restaurant.
Arrival Zhongdian (Shangri-La) and transfer to hotel.
Rest of the day free for acclimatization.
We recommend a stroll into the old city centre in the evening to experience a very authentic Tibetan
atmosphere.

Day 7 – Zhongdian (Shangri-La)
Breakfast at hotel.
Full day visit Songtzanlin Temple, Pudacuo Forest Park (with Bita Lake or Shudu Lake), Tibetan Family and old town with lunch at local restaurant.

Day 8 – Zhongdian / Lhasa
Breakfast at hotel.
Transfer to airport for flight MU5837 (08h50/10h35) to Lhasa.
Arrival Lhasa transfer to hotel.

Day 9 – Lhasa

Visit Potala Palace, and walking down around at the Barkhor and Dschokhang, the Tibetian Tomb in the heart of the old city.

Day 10 – Lhasa
Breakfast at hotel.
Visit Norbulingka park, it was Dalai Lama summer place and where they handled the political affairs.

Visit Sera Monastery, debating of hundred of monks every day afternoon.

Day 11 – Lhasa

Visit Ganden Monastery and Golden Reliquien-Stupa (located inside the Gandan Monastery)-please see the 06 remarks below.

Day 12 – Lhasa / Shigatze
Breakfast at hotel.
Coach to Shigatze (about 5-6 hours, 280km), toward the 2nd biggest city of Lhasa and visit Dolma Lakhang in Nethang.
Arrival Shigatze and visit Tashilunpo Monastery with lunch and dinner.
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 13 – Shigatze / Gyantze
Breakfast at hotel.
Free at leisure.
Transfer to Gyantze (about 2-3 hours) and with a stop at the Shalu Monastery.
Visit to the Kumbum with lunch and dinner.

Day 14 – Gyantze / Tsethang
Breakfast at hotel.
Coach to Tsethang (about 7 hours) via Kampa La Pass, pass by the Yamdok Yutsho, colour of water of the lake is blue, with lunch box at lakeside and dinner.
Arrival Tsethang transfer to hotel.
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 15 – Tsethang
Breakfast at hotel.
Visit Samye Monastery, the oldest temple in Tibet, and then Trandruk Lhakhang and Konigsfestung Yumbhu Lhakhar up in the Yarlung Tal with lunch and dinner.

Day 16 – Tsethang / Beijing
Breakfast at hotel.
Visit 13th’s King Tomb.
Transfer to airport for flight to Beijing via Chengdu with lunch.

Day 17 – Beijing

Visit Great Wall, that has been built from 770-475 B.C. – climbing on top on the 2484 miles long Great Wall is really an experience.

Visit Forbidden City with the emperor’s palace in the heart of Beijing (So called because it was off limits for 500 years, covering an area of 250 acres, protected by a 10.7m high wall, marked off by towers at each corner) and Tiananmen Square.

Remarks:
01. Blackout dates:
Golden week: 01-03 May and 01-07 Oct 2009 and Chinese New year: 26 Jan-01 Feb.
02. All tours to Lhasa-not recommend to go in between Mid-Nov to March due to very cold weather.
03. All transfer and tours based on English/German/French speaking guide, but please note that in Tibet there are only 3 German speaking guides, so French/German speaking guide in Tibet are subject to reconfirm.
04. All guests need to apply Tibet permit before go to Lhasa, Tibet permit needs: China visa copy and passport copy, the rate of the tours included the fee of Tibet permit.
05. Request booking within 3 months, Tibetan guide in Lhasa is subject to availability.
06. There is a very nice pilgrims-path around the monastery which is very recommendable to walk with spectacular views. If the guest wants to do it they can do so, if they walk well on this high sea level path.
07. Lijiang/Dali and Zhongdian only English speaking guide available and not up to international guide standard.
08. Food in Yunnan is a kind of mixed traditional Chinese and minority food might not be suitable for all tourists.
